Baby Shark Push-up Challenge

Baby Shark Push-up Challenge

Making something useful and fun out of a mind-numbing kids song…

Players: 1+

Equipment: Speaker w/ access to “Baby Shark” song (available on Youtube, Spotify, and other streaming apps)

Game: If you’re lucky, you haven’t heard the “Baby Shark” song, but if you live in the US, and especially if you have kids like I do, you’ve heard the “song”.  It’s sort of been a national phenomena here.  Anyway, since the song is so repetitive, I figured I’d have some fun and turn it into a fitness challenge.  It works best as a short finisher and all you need is a speaker and any number of people! Watch my video instruction below for the details and a demonstration.

A couple pointers:

  • The goal is to keep up – there are 9 verses, each with 4 lines, so it’s’ a total of 36 push-ups to keep up with
  • All the verses can be modified as knee-push-ups, except the mountain climbers in verse 7, so just have them do climbers without the push-ups for that verse.
